Academics:
Throughout my schooling, I have been an Honor Roll student and I am currently on Headmaster's list and work my hardest to maintain an all A average so that I can graduate from my school as an honor graduate.
In 2007, I was awarded the district and state winner of the Farm Bureau essay contest entitled "The Many Hats of a Farmer". This topic was personal to me, being raised in an agriculturally based house hold. I was able to use my father as the main example in my essay, for he not only has to be the man of the house, but he also has to be responsible for his farm.
In 2009, I was named one of the winners of the Rotary Club essay contest on what character means to me. In this essay, I took the word "character" and used each letter as a trait one with good character holds. I was very happy to have been the winner of this essay contest because, character is a value that I hold very close to my heart.
My freshman year in high school, I made honor roll the first semester and headmaster's list the second semester. This was a great achievement for me because, I started my first job this year and I was unsure as to how I was going to manage good grades and the responsibility of working.

Athletics:
I have been dancing since the young age of four and I have had many achievements through this beautiful art form. In February of 2007 and 2009, I was able to attend a dance workshop led by world famous ballerina, Suzanne Farrell. I took many skills away from this experience that have helped make me the dancer I am today.
Also through dance, I have been awarded with many roles in recitals. In my dance studio's 2008 production of Peter Pan, I was cast as one of Tiger Lilly's Indians, a pirate on Captain Hook's ship, and a woodland fairy. Peter Pan was by far my favorite production and I had a lot of fun being a member of the cast.
In our 2008 production of The Nutcracker, I was cast as many enjoyable roles. I was chosen as a friend of Clara's, a snow flake that welcomes Clara and her prince to the Land of Sweets, Arabian Coffee, and Chinese Tea. Although Peter Pan is my favorite, The Nutcracker runs a close second and I cannot wait to be a part of this ballet again in the future.
My ballet school's most recent production, Coppelia, was definitely strengthening. My instructor used choreography similar to The Royal Ballet's, therefore the rest of the cast and I were kept on our toes at all times...literally! In this ballet, I was cast as a friend of Swan Hilda's, the main character, and an Hour, which represents the coming of the new day. I gained a lot of strength from this show and I had a very good time rehearsing with the rest of the cast.

Extra Curricular:
In the fall of 2009, I became a member of a prestigious performing arts group in my community entitled Music and Drama Troupe. This was a great accomplishment for me because, Music and Drama Troupe has produced many success stories including winners of Miss Georgia and finalists at Miss America, television icons, and recording artists. When auditioning, I had to sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz, just like everyone else auditioning. I was also asked to sing a song of my choice. I chose "Home" from Disney's Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast. When informed that I had become a member, I felt a strong sense of accomplishment and I was very excited to start attending the Sunday night practices. Music and Drama Troupe held their annual Christmas Show and I do not know if I could have enjoyed the process and production any more.  I feel that I can grow in my singing experience through Music and Drama Troupe and I consider this organization to be a main piece in the puzzle I call my life.

Community Service:
Through my community service activities, I have done many things that I have found to be rewarding.
2003 through 2006, I assisted at a camp my mother held at her place of work for children with asthma. The camp provided children with tips and techniques to make living with asthma easier. I met many people through this camp who I still keep in my life today. Even though the camp is not held anymore, I am glad to know that there are people out there who became educated about their disease through my mother's camp, Camp Easy Air.
In the summer of 2009, I went on a mission trip to Pearl River, Louisiana with my church youth group. On this trip my fellow youth members and I assisted at First Baptist of Pearl River. We collided with the youth group  to help replace the ceiling in their youth room with a drop ceiling and we also cleaned out their disaster relief trailer. Though the weather was hot and the tasks were not glamorous, I am thankful that I was a part of helping a church, much like my own, in another state.
One of the most recent community service projects I have participated in through 4-H took place in the fall of 2009 at the annual event, Fall Forum. At this series of classes, all 4-H'ers were encouraged to bring Christmas cards so that we could write Christmas greetings and letters of appreciation to our veterans.  Also, attendees were encouraged to bring items for children who are underprivileged. I am thankful I participated in both of these activities because both projects were tasks that needed to be done. These are only some of the few wonderful opportunities 4-H has provided me with and I am very glad to have been a part of them.
