When someone mentions pageantry, a person usually creates many stereo types. One might think that every young woman who participates in these competitions is fake from head to toe, but I am here to prove false ideas, such as those, to be incorrect. I have been competing in pageants since the age of five, when I participated in my school's competition. I was very excited, and shocked, when my name was called as the winner. Ever since that evening, I have been participating in local pageants. I am currently preparing to begin competing in preliminaries for state level pageants. I can honestly say that pageantry has provided me with not only stage presence and the ability to perform in front of large crowds, but also they have provided me with necessary interview skills that I will someday use when applying for jobs in the business world. One of my many goals in life is to one day become Miss America and I fully intend on doing my best to achieve this!

Competing in Miss Westwood

Competing in my school's pageant is always an event I anticipate. Being Little Miss Westwood inspired me to continue to aim for my goal of being Miss Westwood. To represent my school as the queen would be a great honor. In this pageant, contestants are able to participate in a private interview with the select panel of judges, onstage introduction, the talent portion, and evening wear. I aspire to one day become the "head queen" of such a school of excellence.
